Basic Proposal

A flight through history.

For this project, I have chosen to document and photograph the history of RAF Harrowbeer, a specially constructed air station in Yelverton, Devon. During the war, was used by multiple squadrons housing a variety of fighter planes and the occasional bomber. I want to create a journey to the airfield and then recall the history of the air base through words and photography combined. I will try to incorporate some light painting into my images to help recreate what was originally part of the airfield and help showcase how the airfield has been preserved. Picking out some key points from its history I will try to recreate some features of the airfield.

A key influence at the moment is the RAF Harrowbeer interest Group. This has inspired me to delve into the history of RAF Harrowbeer. I am keen to learn more about the history and utilise this information to capture some creative photography to accompany the history.
