Shoot 1 - Editing
I have started to make a selection of images that I want to edit, to from possible final images. I have a good variety of images: some showing the vastness of the location and others focusing on some of the more key details.

So far the images that are standing out are the 4th one, and the 8th to the end. With the 4 different images that are close to the ground, I made sure to try them at different heights to show a variety of ideas within my work. The last one of those 4 is too close to the ground as you start to lose the viewing angle of the rest of the airfield and it starts to lose the desired effect. I will discard this one as it wont fit properly within my set of final images. The last image will be the one that I crop into a panoramic image. The trees give a nice bit of detail standing tall over one of the remaining blast bays. This will look good as the top edge of the panoramic image.

After picking out these images from my initial selection, I have done some edits to them. Some in black and white and some in colour. This is so that I can start to make a decions as to which I would prefer for my final images. I have all editied them in the deadpan style. I think this has worked for the type of images that they are and what I am trying to get across in my images: an open landscape and remains of the old airfield. On screen the images convey this well and I think that they look good, however I am personally not too keen on the deadpan style of images as I am more used to editing images with a brighter colour, more contrast showing more detail to the image. If I am going to edit in black and whit then the images definitely need to have more contrast to them to give them more punch and drama. For instance the image in black and white with the remaining tarmac from the runway doesnt hjave much going for it as you can not particularly see much detail in the tarmac where as in colour it does have more detail. I think that to counteract this problem I need to add a touch more contrast to the black and white edit.
I am planning on going out on another shoot to capture some more detail of the airfield and to try and capture a journey around the airfield that I can then show within my movie that I am creating to sit alongside my final prints in the summer show. This will show people aorund the airfield and give them an idea of what once stood and will give a brief look at the landscape available up there and perhaps inspire people to go and visit the airfield and learn more about the history of it.
